Our corporate name, ServoVita, Inc, derives from the Latin, "to protect life." This is our mission - to protect the lives of high-risk individuals by manufacturing the ultimate anti-suicide garments and bedding available.

 

In 2006, our company was approached by a California correctional facility that had sampled commercially available suicide prevention smocks and found them lacking. Charged with developing a safety smock that would reduce inmate complaints and facility costs, we set about researching exactly what was needed - from both the perspective of the inmates as well as the mental health and facility workers. To address the critical findings in our research we developed an anti-suicide smock that provided superior comfort, increased body coverage for warmth and dignity, increased durability and easy washability and maintenance.

 

Thorough in-facility testing has resulted in substantially reduced inmate complaints and high praises from mental health and facility staff. Over a one year test period, one facility reduced inmate complaints for discomfort and indignity to zero!
